If you grew up as an RPG fan in the late 80s/early 90s (like me), then you might have heard of the Lone Wolf Adventure gamebooks. These were like Choose Your Own Adventure books, but with an RPG element to them. You kept track of your HP, gear, money, and you could even carry stuff over to the next book. The best part was it was a solo-RPG! you didn't have to get your friends together to play them!
My seventh grade English teacher had these as part of her library in her classroom and my buddies and I would take turn checking them out to play through them through the week. I have really fond memories of reading through them on the half-hour bus ride to and from school.
In fact, I have such fond memories of them that I gave Thalin the nickname of The Lone Wolf and his mark is partly based on the logo of the book!
So imagine my delight when I learned that the game is having a revival as a new RPG through Kickstarter! It's already funded and has just a few days left, so you can definitely pick up a copy and some bonuses! So if we you remember Lone Wolf as well as I do, go show your support!
