AMAESHA
Mortal beings descended from celestial lineage. They shine with an inner light and grace.
You know the Common and Amaeshti languages.
Healing Radiance. Once per day, roll a number of d4s equal to 1 + half your level (rounded down). One target you touch regains that many hit points.
AUTOMATA
Created by the gnomes for war, they now seek to find their place in the world. Stoic and curious.
You know the Common and Gnomish languages as well as one additional common language.
Skin of Metal. You have a natural AC of 13 + DEX mod.
CAUN
Small, adventurous travelers descended from Leprechauns. They enjoy collecting things, the open road, and merry gatherings.
You know the Common and Caunish languages.
Feywild Shimmer. Once per day, you can become invisible for 3 rounds.
DAEVA
Mortal beings descended from infernal lineage. They burn with an inner fire and intensity.
You know the Common and Daevasti languages.
Baleful Touch. Once per day, roll a number of d4s equal to 1 + half your level (rounded down). One target you touch takes that much damage.
DRAGONKIN
Fierce, proud warriors birthed into the world by the gods. Reptillian and scaled like their winged ancestors.
You know the Common and Draconic languages.
Breath Weapon. When creating your character either roll 1d4 on the chart below or choose a breath type. You may make a Ranged Attack to strike an enemy within NEAR with a blast of the chosen breath type dealing 1d8 damage along with the extra effect. This can be dodged or parried as a ranged attack.
1 Acid (1d4 on the next round)
2 Fire (sets fire to flammable objects)
3 Ice (Disadvantage on Actions next round)
4 Lightning (1d4 to a random target within NEAR)
GNOMES
Clever, inventive people who live for study and innovation. Big minds inside a small body.
You know the Common and Gnomish languages.
Tinker's Knack. You have advantage on any checks associated with mechanical devices such as locks, traps, doors, etc.
Classes
All official Shadowdark classes are available in the Chronicle setting.
Classes from 3rd party sources like Unnatural Selection are at the GM’s discretion.
Chronicle-Specific Classes
ACADEMIC MAGE (aka Brotherhood Mages)
See Wizard (pg. 42) in the Shadowdark Core Rules.
Path distinctions to come later.
AETHERBLOOD MAGE
Magi born with the Aetherweb coursing through their veins. They cast magic from sheer force of will and not through memorized spells or answered prayers.
Their magic is powerful but untempered, many learn a weapon skill to compensate.
Weapons: One of any weapon.
Armor: None
Languages: You know 3 additional common languages.
Learning Spells. You can permanently learn a wizard spell by training with another Aetherblood who knows the spell for a day and succeeding a DC 15 Charisma check.
Spellcasting. You can cast spells from the Wizard Spells list that you know. You know three tier 1 spells of your choice from the wizard spell list (see pg. 52 of the Shadowdark Core Rules). When casting you use your Charisma rather than Intelligence.
Each time you gain a level, you choose new wizard spells to learn according to the Wizard Spells Known table on pg. 25 of the Shadowdark Core Rules.
